Actually, this is an easy question to answer. An affiliate sales program is an arrangement in which a company pays you, the webmaster, a percentage of the sale for every online customer they get by using a link from your website to their website. Like I said, it is simple enough.

But, you may now be wondering, why sell their products? Again, the answer is simple: it is a whole lot easier to have other company’s products on your site than it is for you as a small business owner to purchase inventory and try to sell it directly. And that is the beauty of these programs; without even having an inventory you make money by using the affiliate sales programs!

Some people may argue that you have to have a tremendous amount of traffic to your website in order for the affiliate sales programs to work. This may have some truth to it, but it all depends on which site building program you are using as well as what affiliate programs. I have affiliate sales programs on my site that are working wonders for me and I use them for three reasons. First, it offers my readers access to products they may not be familiar with or know where to easily find. Second, it offers me the opportunity to support a company or product that I believe in and that I use on a regular basis. And, finally, I use my affiliate sales program to make money!

Affiliate marketing web sites manage a network of merchants that are interested in having you advertise their products on your website and they pay you per lead, per click or per sale depending upon the merchant. Below are three sites that I use.

If you are interested in becoming an affiliate for any of the sites below click on the ad and look for the link either at the top of the page or the bottom that says “Affiliate Program” and follow the instructions. Or follow the special instructions under the ad.

Go to the bottom of the page and click on Customer Service. Use left navigation bar and select Affiliates.	Using the top navigation bar click on My Novica. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Become an Affiliate.

At the bottom of the page click on Company and Careers. On the right side of the page click on Join the Program.

Go to the bottom of the page and click on About Us. At the top of the page click on Affiliate Program

At the bottom of the page click on About Us. Go to the left navigation bar and click on Affiliate Partner Program

On the left side of the screen click on www.wilddivine.com. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Affiliate Program.

This affiliate program is by invitation only. Click on the ad and then click on the Contact Us page. Send an email introducing your site and requesting to become an affiliate. They will review your site and forward you a password and web address to fill out the application.

If you are looking for other types of products keep your eyes peeled whenever visiting someone else’s website and if you see an ad that you are interested in follow it and look for the link to their Affiliate Program. It takes a little time to get started but it is well worth the effort and your readers will appreciate quality advertisements.
