Luna and Larry's Coconut Bliss Ice Cream Product Review and GiveawayI have gone the past year and half dairy free and pretty much desert free, eating only a healthy, organic, raw food diet. I find it interesting that when you provide your body with the nutrients it needs you really do not have any cravings. Although I must admit I do love my 85% organic chocolate! So when Luna and Larry's contacted me to review their Coconut Bliss organic ice cream I was slightly hesitant at first, but then I remembered that my other half and my daughter would have killed me if I turned them down. And you know what?, I am glad I didn't. What's the Product?
Naked Almond Fudge First Impressions Luna and Larry's sent a couple of coupons for me to pick out what flavors we wanted to try, so I zipped right over to the health food store and picked out two flavors that I thought my family would enjoy. I was looking forward to trying a coconut-based product to see if it could retain the creaminess of traditional ice cream. How I used it
My daughter, on the other hand, hated it. We hadn't quite realized that she had an aversion to coconut. So beware, if you do not like coconut you are not likely to enjoy the majority of these ice creams. Although if you like chocolate you are in luck, from what the company representative says the feedback she has been getting from the consumers is that the with the chocolate flavors you really do not taste the coconut. The third reviewer, my other half, a confirmed junk food addict, appreciated the product and was even somewhat surprised that it was creamy. But still viewed it as a 'health food' ice cream, which meant it didn't come from a cow so "I don't care how much I enjoy it, it still gets the label of being a 'health food' ice cream", which is somehow substandard. Me? I think it is a compliment, especially since it is coming from a 'tainted tongue.' I am pretty confident that those of you out there who enjoy coconut and are looking for an alternative to dairy or soy based ice creams will enjoy Luna and Larry's Coconut Bliss Ice Cream.

For example, they offer a "biker's incentive" to staff who regularly use their bicycles as transportation to and from the office. They recycle everything that qualifies. They work with a local eco-friendly printing company, Green Solutions, for many of their printing needs, they always buy recycled paper supplies and all this is just on the office level. And if that isn't enough they donate to a slew of organizations, too many to mention here, as well as participating in community events to support local education and sustainability based organizations. Wow Mother Earth is truly impressed. Is it a Healthy Product? Luna and Larry's uses only organic ingredients to make up their ice cream as well as using as many fair trade products as possible, plus they are Kosher Parve certified. Healthy indeed. How does this product impact my wallet? Luna and Larry's Coconut Bliss is comparable to most 'health' food ice creams. If you do not eat dairy and are looking for a healthy desert it is worth every penny. Would I recommend this product to a friend? Definitely, especially since it is organic and has nothing but great ingredients in it.

Simple, I inserted the spoon into the container and with great pleasure placed it into my mouth. The results?, well the opinions varied widely. I tried the vanilla and thought it was fantastic. It was very creamy for a non-dairy based ice cream, which surprised me quite a bit especially since over the past 30 years I have tried more than my share. The almond fudge was good, but it had a bit too much of the goodies in it for my taste. But overall I would give Coconut Bliss two thumbs up.
