Dakota Beef Review
‘Where’s the beef’ may have gone the way of the dinosaurs with the resurgence of veganism and vegetarianism, but for those of you that are true blue carnivores this review is for you.
What’s the Product?
Gourmet Organic Ground Beef
OOOOOH Beef….. Yum.
How I used it
Defrosted that puppy lit up the grill and had ourselves some burgers! Way yum. Dakota Beef definitely has a distinct flavor, a rather earthy flavor but really tasty. It was a big hit at our house and gets a big thumbs up from my five year old.
How does Mother Earth feel about this product?
Well, this very well could be a touchy subject with some folks given the fact that the cattle industry overall has not been good for the environment, us or the cows, but for the sake of the review I do think that we can differentiate between the organically raised, grass fed, humanly treated cattle and the mainstream cattle industry and, given those parameters Dakota Organic Beef can stand tall.
Why? Well, check out the bottom line when it comes to Dakota Beef:
- All cows are born and raised on certified organic pasture
- Never receive antibiotics
- Never receive growth-promoting hormones
- Fed only certified organic grains and grasses
- Have unrestricted outdoor access
- Receive humane treatment
Dakota Beef is a pioneer in the organic food movement and have been advocates of the need to treat cattle humanely by improving their overall quality of life since their inception. How do they do this? Simple, they reduce the overall stress on the cattle by treating animals with respect and providing open pasture for grazing. All of which makes for happy, healthy cows. This makes Mother Earth pretty darn happy.
Is it a Healthy Product?
Again, this is another topic up for debate, but since I am doing the review I would say yes, it’s organic, primarily grass fed with no antibiotics or hormones and the cows get to live a normal healthy life, yup, I would say it is most definitely healthy.
How does this product impact my wallet?
Compared to hormone and antibiotic infested, carbon monoxide treated beef it might seem a bit pricey, but as far as I am concerned this product is priced competitively.
Would I recommend this product to a friend?
For my carnivore friends, absolutely.
4 ½ stars. Dakota Beef produces a great product at the same time ensuring that the cattle are treated humanely and have a high quality of life, they get two thumbs way up from us.
