Detox Foot Pad

So, what is the story with Detoxifying Foot Pads? In today's world, I believe detoxifying our bodies is vital. The problem comes in with which method we should choose and how long we should use it. Their are a myriad of options out there this is just one of them.

Definition:
I could not locate a general definition for Detox Foot Pads so I used a description from a web site that sells the product

Detox Foot Pads- a naturopathic combination that draws toxins from the acupuncture points at the bottom of the foot.

My Experience: This is an interesting product. While I was coming off of some of my more toxic medications I thought it might be beneficial to help draw out some of the toxins stored in my body. So I did a little research and came across detox pads. They have various herbs, roots and other substances in the pads which are supposed to draw out toxins that settle in your feet while you sleep.

This theory is based on Eastern medicine that has held the view for centuries that toxins go downwards in the body during the day. They are then deposited away from the vital organs, in places such as the feet. So I used the pads for about 2 months. It is really kind of gross. You place the pads on the bottom of your feet right before you go to bed. In the morning you remove the pads and wash your feet. The really gross part is what supposedly has come out and is now in the pad. It is slimy and black brown in coloration and it has a unique odor. Depending on the individual, the detox period may be for two or three days to two or three weeks, or longer in the case of more severe disease or toxic build up. Apparently I was a severe case because even after 2 months of steady use my detox pads were still full every morning.

Would I do it again? Why not. I would probably try it again more to see if I ever reached a point where the pad comes out clean and I am supposedly clear of all my toxins.

This is a picture of the pads before use and after use. I hate to say it but my after use was a lot slimier than that picture.
