According to the statistics published in the Anxiety and Depression Association of America’s website, around 18% of the American adults are struggling with an anxiety disorder. You should check out some of the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Because of stress, anxiety, conflicts, and various other reasons, the negative energy surrounds our environment. It will lead to various negative conditions in our life. It will not allow you to concentrate on your day to day priorities.

Environment can affect your emotions and mind

It cannot be denied that some of the factors that lead to stress are unavoidable. However, your surroundings can be modified to ward off the negative energy. Sometimes focusing too much on the negative news on the television can make a way for negative energy to enter your mind. Just imagine how much stressed you are likely to be when you repetitively hear about the negative news all over the world.

In addition to the negative energy spread by the television and the internet, sitting in a dark room for a long time without communicating with others, conflicts, and more can also make a path for negative energy to enter your mind and body. You should be very careful of your surroundings for ensuring you are not making the path for the negative energy. There are many ways to ensure a positive environment in your home or workplace. In this article, we will deal with the procedure to make lavender and a sage smudge stick to reduce negative energy and anxiety.

Lavender and a smudge stick

Many Western doctors won’t suggest you smudge stick because it may seem unscientific to them. However, in the ancient times, smudge sticks were widely used to reduce negative energy and depression. What’s more, scientists have found evidence of health benefits from using smudge sticks!

A 2007 study published in the journal of Ethnopharmacology found that burning a smudge stick for just one hour could eliminate 94% of bacteria in the air. Head researcher, C.S. Nautiyal says the smudge stick ” caused over 94% reduction of bacterial counts by 60 min and the ability of the smoke to purify or disinfect the air and to make the environment cleaner was maintained up to 24h in the closed room.”

In modern times too, you can use a smudge stick in your home or workplace if it’s possible. It’s not difficult at all to make a smudge stick for you. One of the crucial ingredients to add while making a smudge stick is lavender. It is a genus of 47 well-recognized species in the mint family.

Lavender is well known for its medical properties and benefits. It can highly enhance your respiratory health, digestion system, immunity, and it can also help in reducing your anxiety and depression.
