Nordic Naturals Product Review and GiveawayOddly enough, my doctor had just recommended that I increase my consumption of fish and add Omega 3 to my diet, so when Healthy-Holistic-Home-Living asked me to review Ultimate Omega I readily agree. Our family is very conscious of products in the market which include chemicals and unsafe substances to food and supplements, so the first thing I did was to go to the Nordic Naturals website and see what they had to say about their products. Well I was not disappointed, in fact, I am already impressed. What's the Product?
First Impressions The Ultimate Omega soft gels come in a plastic bottle which lists ingredients and recommends taking 2 soft gels daily with food. When I opened the bottle I was taken aback by how large the soft gels are. Now I am one that normally doesn't balk at taking large pills or capsules, but I think these are going to be a bit of a challenge. On the other hand, I am impressed with the fact that there is no gluten, milk derivatives or artificial colors or flavors in this product and that it includes 1000 mg of purified fish oil from anchovies and sardines, which provide omega-3 fasts, EPA and DHA. It was also nice to see that the company has taken the time to include this warning on the bottle: "May have been manufactured on the same processing line as products containing soy derivates". How does Mother Earth feel about this product? I think Mother Earth is quite impressed with this product and quite happy with Nordic Naturals. Just the fact that they harvest fish species from waters that are not threatened by over fishing is enough to make her smile. The fish are sustainably harvested. Nordic Naturals claims in their Mission statement that they have " a deep respect for the environment," and while they prove this in all aspects of their processes and production, sadly, they use plastic containers to bottle their products. For this, Mother Nature is not thrilled and wants to remind this company that it will take many years for her to be able to biodegrade the many discarded plastic bottles that will pollute her. Is it a Healthy Product? The company works at processing the fish within hours of being caught and they monitor freshness during processing. They use "molecular distillation to remove impurities heavy metals, dioxides, etc), saturated fats and other undesirable organic compounds, leaving behind only the key beneficial components of the fish oil". This claim in itself is good enough for me to recognize this as a healthy and safe product. This is a reliable company, their Mission statement attests to it: "Nordic Naturals' mission is to deliver pure and great-tasting omega fish oils that promote optimal health and wellness. Through science, education, and community outreach, we initiate standards of excellence and integrity that apply not only to our product line but to all of our business practices worldwide. As an industry leader and innovator, Nordic Naturals strives to lead individuals to a better quality of life while maintaining a deep respect for the environment." How does this product impact my wallet? At $27.95 plus shipping for a months' supply it may not be affordable to some people. On the other hand, this is a healthy, safe and reliable product, which justifies the price and compares well with similar products in the market, which may not be as safe and natural. Would I recommend this product to a friend? Without hesitation! Heck, I will also recommend to neighbors, strangers and even foes. Bottom Line:

I started taking the soft gels right away, and I must say that I was able to swallow them without any difficulty. I am fully aware of the natural anti-inflammatory properties of fish oil - that is one of the reasons my doctor recommended I take it - so after reviewing the company's website, reviewing the ingredients and seeing how the soft gels are processed, I have no doubt that this product will definitely be beneficial to my health. Since I have only been taking it for a week, I cannot testify to its long-term results, but am confident that it will do what it claims to do. Another benefit of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Fish Oil supplement is that they do not repeat on you. You know make you burp up a yucky fish oil taste and smell. The company adds lemon to the formula to eliminate this from ever happening. All this makes for a great product.
