Organic B.R.A.T. Feel Better Drink Product Review and GiveawayLuckily, my daughter, who is now three years old, has not been sick that often and has required minimum medication. Actually, only on two occasions have we had to try to administer medications for a fever. And I say try because it was almost impossible, it was more like trying to tame a wild dingo, I really don't even think we successfully administered the medication. So when B.R.A.T. contacted us about reviewing their product I was excited about finding something that was not only natural, organic and dairy free, but came in kid friendly flavors that we could use if she ever had a need for it. What's the Product?
First Impressions I have to say that I love the concept of this product. Luckily, we have not had to experience any stomach difficulties with our daughter, but I am familiar with the B.R.A.T. diet and think it was brilliant to take that concept and turn it into an organic rice-based beverage. I am eager to try this with my daughter although, one caveat, she is uniquely particular about 'flavored' products so we shall see how it goes. And speaking of flavored, I did notice on the ingredients list that it contained 'natural flavorings'. This is typically a red flag for me because some companies use that term in place of MSG. Just to be sure, I sent a quick note to the company representative double-checking the information to ensure that there were no additional additives or MSG in the product. They promptly replied providing me with documentation ensuring me that their products do not contain MSG. Shew, that's a good thing!
Well, needless to say, this turned out to be an interesting process. I assumed, as most parents would, that my daughter would have been interested in trying the products because of the cute packaging as well as the variety of flavors. Not so, my daughter took one look at B.R.A.T. and promptly refused to try them. No discussion, she would not budge. This is a child that tried octopus and loved it, go figure. So I tried another approach. I decided to have my other half offer to try them and see if that would interest my daughter. Well it did peak her curiosity, but she was only willing to try two out of the four flavors. B.R.A.T. makes four flavors, Cinnamon Toast, Chocolate Honey, Original and Vanilla. I lined them up, pored a sample of each in a cup and handed them out. Bottom line, my daughter liked the Vanilla and so did my other half. The other flavors didn't go over well, but again we are dealing with one, an admitted junk food junkie and two, a very particular child that does not like ANY flavorings. She is all-natural, all the way. It makes it a bit more challenging to review a product with that kind of limited response, but I can still say with confidence that I firmly believe that B.R.A.T. is a quality product that I would recommend to any parent and the chances of their child liking it are probably a lot better than with mine. How does Mother Earth feel about this product? B.R.A.T. is passionate about helping others, they are committed to donating at least 10% of their net profits to charity. Their products are free of pesticides and common allergens something that pleases Mother Earth. Besides, she likes the word "organic". Is it a Healthy Product? B.R.A.T. drinks are formulated with ingredients that settle an upset stomach and help to calm vomiting & diarrhea while also naturally restoring electrolytes and nutrients. It is free of pesticides, common allergens and added sugar. It is also Lactose, Wheat/Gluten, Soy, Corn and Casein free. And to top it all off it is organic. Healthy indeed. How does this product impact my wallet? Not too bad at $6.79 per box. I pay a bit less for a traditional box of organic rice milk so I would say for a product that is ensuring that your children are properly hydrated as well as soothing when they are sick the price seems about right. Would I recommend this product to a friend? Definitely, B.R.A.T. is a quality product that fits the bill when your child is sick. Bottom Line:
4 stars. The idea behind this product is pretty darn good. Add organic to that and it is all that much better.
