Organic Chickpea Hummus

I created this recipe because I was having a really hard time finding organic hummus at my local grocery stores. You will need a food processor for this recipe.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup water

1/2 cup organic tahini (sesame seed paste)

6 organic garlic cloves, peeled (can use 3 tablespoons of organic minced garlic instead but NO garlic powders)

6 tablespoons organic lemon juice (fresh or bottled)

1 tablespoon organic extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon organic ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon organic paprika

1/4 teaspoon organic black pepper

2 15 oz cans of organic chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) drained and rinsed

Directions:

Place first three ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Add juice and remaining ingredients. Process until smooth, scraping the sides occasionally. Yields 4 cups finished hummus.
