Proper Rinsing after Oil Pulling

by Ana
(Toronto)

Rinsing your mouth with water after Oil Pulling does not rinse what toxins and oil that is in your mouth.

When I rinse with vinegar (apple cider vinegar) I spit all sorts of little brown thread-like looking mucous. When rinsing with water nothing happens, because water cannot rinse oil but vinegar can, and in this case very contaminated oil.

Water does not rinse contaminated oil from the mouth, vinegar does!

I find mucous is lodged or better said, pulled through the gums and membranes in the mouth. When rinsing with vinegar I can even feel bits of mucus detaching from the membranes.

And there's quite a number of them. Even after 10 minutes of rinsing they are still surfacing.

I do not understanding how anyone can experience progress or the full benefits without properly rinsing oil from mouth.

Thanks for that information. I always brush my teeth after oil pulling but using salt water sound good also. I have heard that if you are using vinegar and honey for health purposes, that you should drink it through a straw. This is to prevent damage to teeth.

alternative to vinegar

I fully agree that rinsing is very important although vinegar is acetic acid and therefor (as with on the skin) one will experience a peeling action its probably your gum tissue you are spitting out when you rinse with vinegar, also the acid content is very damaging to the enamel on teeth it will strip it away pretty quickly so be very careful, a very good alternative is to brush your teeth after OPing and then rinse with warm salt water, every couple of days you can add a little baking soda to the salt water but remember Baking Soda has an abrasive quality and excessive use in the mouth will also result in breakdown of the tooth enamel. i would recommend you take a peek at a couple of sites about vinegar and its properties.
