Solixir Product Review and Giveaway
What's the Product?
-Awaken Orange Mate -Restore Pomegranate Ginger -Relax Blackberry Chamomile First Impressions
Of course, the first thing I did and generally always do is read the ingredients. I was looking for any health offenders and immediately my eyes focused on the words 'Natural Flavorings.' OH NO, every time I see this it turns out to be code for MSG or some other nasty flavor-enhancing ingredient that has deadly long-term health consequences. So, I zipped off an email to my contact at Solixir and he sent back a note stating: "Our natural flavors are the essential oils, essences, and extracts of the fruit juices and herbs in the drink. We purchase our flavors from the world's biggest and best flavor house. We require the natural flavors to maintain a quality product over the shelf life of the drink. We don't list the individual flavors because it is our proprietary recipe." Shew, that's a relief! I would have hated to have to pass on this review. I love the idea of a 'botanical beverage' and it is interesting that the three flavors have natural herbs that are either stimulating (awaken), relaxing, or restoring. I am really excited to try this product.
According to Solixir the best way to drink their botanical beverages is cold so the night before I planned to try Solixir I placed all three flavors in the refrigerator. The first one I tried was 'Awaken' orange mate. I was expecting an overly sweet drink that had a hint of herbal flavorings and instead I got an incredibly refreshing beverage with pleasantly subtle botanical flavors. I love it! I waited to see if it truly awakened me; my final verdict, yup it did, from a refreshing stand point! I tasted the 'Relax' blackberry chamomile the following day. I was not too excited about this one, maybe I was just too relaxed to have an opinion. Actually, the flavor seemed a bit off for my taste buds but it was still refreshing. I didn't finish the whole can. Next, I tried 'Restore' pomegranate ginger and I loved it! I couldn't tell you if it 'restored' me but it was delicious and refreshing. Would I buy it? Yes, as an occasional treat. I am not one to stop and spend money on beverages or snacks on the road. So it would be rare indeed but if I did, I would definitely reach for a Solixir. How does Mother Earth feel about this product? One of the basic premises of this company is to 'give back to the community and the planet.' I think they do just that. Their commitment to the planet shows in the ingredients they choose to use in their products. Their products are preservative free, additive free and chemical free. Bottom line Solixir said "No to artificial ingredients." And surprisingly they also said No to Sugar, which is huge in today's market. They are committed to not using Genetically Modified Herbs or ingredients. Their cans are 100% recyclable aluminum, the cases are made from 100% recyclable corrugated cardboard, and they are committed to reducing their carbon footprint from manufacturing to delivery. Solixir freely donates products to charities that are aligned with their product brand. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that they are committed to doing 'everything with a smile.' Hmmm I think Mother Earth is beginning to smile herself.
All natural ingredients with NO added sugar, really no added sugar! They actually use botanicals to give the beverage its subtle flavor. And they said it couldn't be done! Healthy indeed.
For me it's a bit pricey it retails for around $1.99, but as a treat it is great. For those of you that spend $2 -$5 on specialty beverages a day this is a steal.
Absolutely, I love this stuff, actually I have the giveaway products sitting in my office and more than once I have been tempted to drink one!
It is nice to come across a beverage company that doesn't think it needs to feed our sugar addiction. No High Fructose Corn Syrup here! It is refreshing, unique and well worth a try.

Right off the bat I like the packaging; it is unique and certainly gets your attention. The ingredients are clearly listed as well as the nutritional information. I like that it is in a tall, skinny can, it's kind of cool.
This is all you have to do to win three FREE cans if Solixir or any other product of your choice:
