Symptoms Low Blood Pressure
What are the symptoms low blood pressure?
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Neurally Mediated Hypotension (NMH) can be devastating for one person and a mild inconvenience for another. Below is a list of symptoms that I experienced during my illness. At times, I was bed bound other times I could function at a minimal level. That is what makes it so difficult for doctors to be able to properly diagnose and treat P.O.T.S and N.M.H. It is extremely important that you take the time to write down your symptoms and share them with your doctor on a regular basis.
Symptoms List - Daily deep aching pain throughout body with exception of right arm. This is a pain at a level I have never experienced before. It is something I cannot ignore or be distracted from. I also have electric like shocks of pain and burning.
- Daily pain in joints with a feeling that they are swollen and with cracking: ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrist and chest. Additionally, the following occurs intermittently on a daily, weekly or monthly basis when I experience symptoms #2:
a. All joints feel loose as if they could pop out of joint. When I stretch, every joint in that body part cracks and pops. b. Knees feel swollen and, if I twist or turn too fast, I get a twinge as if the kneecap is going to pop out of socket. c. I have daily pain in every joint. If feels as if I have arthritis.
- Flashes of pain along the nerve in multiple muscles
- Muscle pain, weakness and tightness of muscles with decrease in range of motion
- Neck pain (on left side only) with creaks, cracks, and neck stiffness
- Twitching of the muscles
- Tingling, numbness, shooting pains throughout the body. Additionally, the following occurs intermittently on a daily basis, weekly or monthly basis when I experience symptoms #7 (there seems to be no specific pattern):
a. Two middle toes on right foot go numb b. Extreme weakness on right side of body, then all limbs on right side go numb (similar to when you get frost bite on your foot, you can barely feel them buy you can still move your toes) c. Forearms feel swollen and tingly, then go numb d. Right foot feels very weak including the ankle, then gets prickly and tingly e. Both feet get tingly and then go numb - Numbness on left side of the face including the eye with jaw and tooth pain on both sides. Numbness is worse when face gets wet or cold.
- Extreme cold along the left side of body including left eye along the major nerve triggered by exposure to very mild cold weather or water.
- Daily Nausea
- Lower body temperature (95-98) feel cold all the time
- Fatigue, tiredness, poor stamina
- Daily headaches on left side of head and face. Soreness on the top left side of head. It is sore to touch. There is also a bump on the left side of the head.
- Throat feels constricted, difficulty swallowing
- Shortness of breath, cough, heart palpitations with exertion
- Rib soreness and breast pain
- General Flu-like symptoms
- Two episodes of incontinence initially. Now there is at first a feeling like spasms in the pelvic area followed by numbness
- Sound and light sensitivity
- Lightheadedness, wooziness
- Increasing motion sickness
- Confusion, difficulty thinking
- Forgetfulness
- Mood swings, irritability
- Unexplained hair loss. Painful scalp
- Mouth ulcers
- Initially waking up at night because of pain. Difficulty sleeping. Pain medication is allowing more restful sleep.
After researching several sites, I compiled a list of symptoms associated with both Neurally Mediated Hypotension and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Today research is finally catching up and many of the symptoms I experienced are now well documented.
