- 10% or more of the daily value for vitamin C, vitamin B6 and manganese
- Onions also contain small amounts of calcium, iron, folate, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium and the antioxidants quercetin and sulfur
Onions are part of the allium family of vegetables and herbs, which also includes garlic, leeks, scallions and chives. Allium vegetables have been grown and used for thousands of years, not only for their distinctive and wonderful flavor, but also for their potent medicinal properties.

It turns out that this pungent vegetable is also amazing for your heart. Your feet contain thousands of nerve endings that act as access point to the internal organs and your nervous system.
The phosphoric acid in the onion enters the bloodstream and helps to purify the blood and pull out toxins (this is why you should never leave a cut onion in your fridge – it will pull the toxins from your fridge and then you eat the onion later…yuck!). - Take an onion (any color) and cut into flat slices.
- Place the onions at the bottom of your feet and pull a thick pair of socks over the onions to keep them in place overnight.
