YOU KNOW YOU HAVE AN INCOMPETENT DOCTOR ...

You know you have an incompetent doctor AND a bad nurse when the doctor is taking your blood pressure on your LEFT arm and the nurse is taking a blood sample from a finger on your LEFT hand AT THE SAME TIME!!! Then they pronounced that I had HIGH blood pressure!!!! They also would not tell me the numbers as it might upset me further!!!!

This same "tag team" requested I return for another BP check 10 days later. They said not to come on a Saturday anymore as I TOOK UP TOO MUCH OF THEIR TIME. I also had to pay another $30.00 co-pay. I am now required to lay down for BP checks with my arm hanging off a narrow exam table. Still not getting good readings...I wonder why!!! (By the way, I get normal readings at home.)

I recently had a blood test that was pretty good. This doctor said she didn't know of any other doctor who could get numbers this good in such a short time (since a test I had 4 months earlier). HUH?

She had nothing to do with it!!! I was the one who watched my diet and exercised and lost 21 pounds, took my meds, etc. She told me to take a look at her new plaque in her lobby as I was leaving. She was given the "2008 DOCTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD" by some group!!! Obviously they don't have her for a doctor!!!

Did I mention she misdiagnosed my stroke? My sister had to drive me to the hospital emergency room two days after I saw her. The doctor there called her to tell her where I was. SHE CALLED ME ON MY HOSPITAL PHONE WHEN I GOT BACK FROM MY MRI. SHE TOLD ME I DID NOT TELL HER ALL MY "SYMPTOMS" (covering her butt)...FUNNY, I ASKED HER POINT BLANK IF SHE THOUGHT I WAS HAVING A STROKE AND SHE SAID "NO"!!!

No, No,...BAD DOCTOR!!!

Needless to say, I am looking for another doctor...

at home tests

Im so sorry, Im sick of inconsiderate doctors. I hope you find a new doctor soon! Have you kept record of your at home results and brought them in? I worked at a Cardiology hospital and a lot of people would have high blood pressure there and not at home so the doctors told them to bring in a chart of their bp taken at home over like two weeks time.

always the doctors fault

Before you bitch and complain about all these doctors maybe you should be the one who is more competent. The doctor was checking your blood pressure while the nurse was checking your pulse and oxygen saturation. and btw google "white coat syndrome."

The nurse was checking my sugar levels not my oxygen levels.I was a newly diagnosed diabetic and I was having trouble using my meter. The nurse was "demonstrating" how to take a blood sample and chose a finger on the same side the doctor was taking my blood pressure. Apparently she could not wait for the doctor to finish before doing the "demonstration". I went to this doctor for almost two years and her manner did not improve. Her blood pressure technique consisted of having you sit or lay down on the exam table with your feet dangling, no back or arm support and making you keep your arm in your lap instead of heart level while contantly talking...I believe she helped create my "white coat syndrome". I took my blood pressure and glucose readings at home every day and faxed them to her and they were in the normal range. But, she was never happy...always trying to get me to take more and more drugs...I often sat next to the drug rep before being called in for my appointment. It was not unusual to wait an hour. I appreciate the comment about how tough it is to have to recover from stroke, rehab, diabetes, etc. but it was made even tougher by this incompetent, unsympathetic doctor
