You Know You've had a Bad Doctor when the Best you can Get is an Apology

True Story....

Probably about 6 months or so ago, I had nothing. I was unemployed, no income, and no health insurance. And to top everything off, I had a messed up wisdom tooth. Alright, so I go to my family doctor's office absolutely writhing in pain.

Imagine someone putting a flathead screwdriver between your teeth and twisting it, every single minute of the day. It was terrible. I apologize, and I'll try my best to watch my language. Let's just say that after the two hour long sit in the waiting room (they were doing high school physicals), and the rudeness of the whole staff in general, I wasn't exactly in the mood to play around with this doctor. Really, can working in a doctor's office be that bad, so bad that you have to be a complete......ummmmmm... a completely bad person, to everyone within earshot? Look, I don't have the kind of energy to deal with these types, who......oh never mind, back to the story.

So I get called back into the room, and they take my blood pressure and everything, and then they left me. For a solid hour, I kid you not, they left me in that room. I will say that the doctor did have some pretty cool stuff in the examining room, like a mock spine with rubber discs and tendons, so it moved realistically. Ok, so the doctor finally walks in. I figured that everything was going to be straight forward, my tooth hurts, give me some pills until I can get to a dentist. So this guy, who I've seen for a grand total of about 3-4 seconds out of the entire visit, says to me, "so, your tooth hurt?" I kind of chuckled at it, almost like I was taking up his valuable time. "yeah, it does." I replied. "well, unfortunately, you don't seem to have any health insurance..... soooo," and the words that came out of his mouth next, they were almost amazing, "I'll cut you a break, and you can either leave now, or pay up at the desk." I think I was stunned more than anything. So, I'm in pain, with no job, little cash, and no insurance, and now, there are 3 of my hours floating around, and I'll never get those back. I left for the last time that day... it's things like this that almost make me hate the way the system works.

Readers with weak stomaches should read no further. Anyone who has experienced that pain knows, it's not something you could just scoff at and brush under the rug, it's completely debilitating. I ended up getting my own drugs and removing the tooth myself. It wasn't the easiest thing I ever had to do, but it was sure better than dealing with all of that. The only thing I wish, maybe I could've know that this was all going to happen, though it shouldn't have.

I bet you I won't go back......
