10 Products Linked to Cancer That Are Hiding In Almost Every Home

Cancer, Products loading...

You want to stay healthy and keep your family healthy. We all do.

The trouble is that in our chemical-filled world, it can be difficult to navigate among products that can harm you. Do you have items in your hours that could potentially be hazardous to you and your family’s health? Let’s find out what are the most common yet potentially harmful products.

Home Products That May Contain Carcinogens

Shampoo

Believe it or not, your shampoo may contain possible carcinogens. Conventional shampoos are full of chemicals, including sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), fragrance, parabens, synthetic colors, and more.

One of the ingredients found in most conventional shampoo is paraben which is a known carcinogen. Research has linked paraben to breast cancer. Other chemicals in shampoo have been also linked to cancer, allergies, birth effects, and neurological conditions.

Opt for organic and natural shampoo made without chemical instead.

Non-Stick Cookware

Non-stick cookware is convenient, however, it may be harmful to your health. It is covered with a synthetic coaching of polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as Teflon. Research has found that Teflon can actually release toxins when heated for only two to five minutes, and may cause health issues when inhaled.

Choose Teflon-free cookware for your and your family’s safety.

Artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame are common ingredients of diet beverages and added to other ‘sugar-free’, ‘low-sugar’, and ‘low-calorie’ food products. Artificial ingredients have been rather controversial and have been linked to lymphomas, leukemia, and breast cancer.

Choose honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, and date paste as an alternative sweetener. And remember, fruits and sweet vegetables are often enough to take care of your sweet tooth naturally.

Plastic Bottles and Containers

Plastic is not only harmful to our environment, but also to your health. Plastic is made of dangerous chemicals that just by touching your mouth, skin, or food can harm your health. Experts warn against the use of plastic, especially the one contains BPA.

While there are more and more BPA-free plastics out there, to stay completely safe, choose glassware and refillable water bottles instead.

Air Fresheners

They may make your house or car smell nice but its fragrances are filled with chemicals that when inhaled may harm your health. Without proper labeling, it is hard to tell which products and how much they may harm your health.

As an alternative, try high-quality essential oils, natural candles, or incense.

Conventional Cleaning Products

Conventional cleaning products from all-purpose cleaners to glass cleaners are filled with toxic chemicals that can be poisonous and dangerous to your health. Some research has found that using household cleaning products is as bad for you as smoking

It is better to stick with organic, natural products made without chemicals or to make your own natural cleaning products.

Toothpaste

Commercial toothpaste is usually made with fluoride which is a carcinogen. While it hasn’t been proven that it can prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria, however, research has shown that it is a neurotoxin that can lead to brain, heart, and bone problems.

To stay safe, choose organic, natural, and fluoride-free toothpaste or make your own.

Soap

Whether it is hand soap, body wash, or dish soap, conventional soaps include a lot of chemicals and fragrances, including Triclosan, a carcinogen that can harm your health.

Choose organic and natural soaps. You may even buy them from local artisans.

Laundry Detergents

Conventional laundry detergents may contain phosphorus, enzymes, ammonia, naphthalene, phenol, and sodium nitrilotriacetate that can all lead to rashes, itchiness, dryness, sinus problems, and even cancer.

Choose organic and natural laundry detergent, soap nuts, or make your own product.

Baby Powder

Many baby powders on the market are talc-based made with talcum powder. Talc can be contaminated to asbestos, which can lead to cancer and cause health issues.

Instead of talc-based baby powder, you may use cornstarch, tapioca starch, arrowroot starch, baking soda, oat flour, or organic, natural, talc-free dusting powders.

Using natural alternatives to these potentially harmful, conventional items in your house, can protect you and your family’s health.
