A root that is commonly ground into a powder and used as a spice in Indian cuisine, especially curries.  Turmeric has had value for thousands of years in India, both as food and as medicine, and it has recently been proven to contain high amounts of anti-inflammatory compounds and antioxidants.  Turmeric shows promise in treating and preventing a host of Western diseases, including Alzheimer’s, cancer, heart disease, arthritis, and depression.  It is especially impressive in its tumor-shrinking capabilities.

  • 3 cups coconut water
  • 1 avocado
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder or fresh
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • Fresh orange juice (enough to blend)
 
Instructions
  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Make sure everything is properly washed/cleaned.
  3. Put every ingredient in the blender.
  4. Add ice, mix well and enjoy!
