Cashews are also a good source of vitamin B6; people who are deficient in this vitamin often experience depression or low mood as a side effect. Eating a few handfuls of cashews regularly can help prevent deficiency-related depression, along with other vitamin B6-rich foods (not to mention vitamin D from sunshine or supplements!).
