Going on vacation and not sure how to eat healthy?
I know it can be a bit daunting trying to find fresh whole organic foods while on vacation. But we figured out how to do it. It’s quite simple, just go local.
Yup, that’s what we did when we traveled from Florida to Maryland and thanks to my good friend Rick over at Eat Local Grown, we had organic all the way! Of course I did pack some basics that I knew we would need but outside of that we did as the natives do, eat what’s available. First stop Clark’s Farm in Maryland. Not only did they have fabulous GMO-free corn they also had pony rides and a petting zoo! We stocked up on organic GMO-free corn, tomatoes and zucchini. We even picked our own fresh herbs for my famous homemade veggie spaghetti sauce!
One of my favorite stops was at Berlin Organics, an up and coming organic farm that is going big on the Eastern Shore. Paul was nice enough to show us his greenhouse and share some of their incredibly delicious tomatoes! If you are ever in Berlin, MD, stop by and say hi!
